ART SPECTRUM COLOURFIX PAPERS

Art Spectrum Colourfix Papers are sheets of 300gsm acid-free watercolour paper professionally screened with Art Spectrum Colourfix Pastel Primer.

Art Spectrum Colourfix Papers are a superb substrate for acrylic paints, oil paints, pastels, watercolours, charcoal and pencils - with the natural toothy surface holding multiple layers without the need for fixative. Erasing* is also easy with Art Spectrum Colourfix Papers as you can simply lift off excess pastel with clear adhesive tape, brush off, use a pencil eraser, or use an Angle Chisel Colour Shaper, or you can overpaint with the matching colour of Art Spectrum Colourfix Pastel Primer.

The surface can be sanded, scrubbed, soaked and reworked over and over. Art Spectrum Colourfix Papers are available in both 24 x 32cm and 50 x 70cm size sheets (please note - not all colours are available in both sizes).

Art Spectrum Colourfix Papers will take an enormous amount of punishment - if you completely dislike what you have painted then use the "kitchen sink"! Some staining of certain pigments may remain, but the grain of the paper is open and accepting. If the paper gets saturated, be sure to wet evenly, press it between many layers of newspaper or blotters and weight down completely flat to dry. Being reusable makes Art Spectrum Colourfix Paper a practical investment, in addition to its other qualities, meaning you can wash off unsatisfactory beginnings and continue to make new paintings until happy.

*Please note - before using any of these techniques it is best to experiment on a test piece to get a feel for how it will respond to your particular style.
